Hi, My Name is Alison Barnes

A Pet Loss Grief Specialist and the heart behind The Love That Stayed Project. My connection with animals began in childhood, during one of the most painful seasons of my life. In the midst of loss, my dog became my comfort, my safe place, and my steady companion. That bond shaped who I am and ignited the calling I carry today.

Throughout my life, I’ve shared my home with dogs, cats, and even a few rescued wildlife friends, each one teaching me that the love we share with our animals is sacred and enduring. I’ve also walked through the deep ache of losing them, and I know how isolating, overwhelming, and misunderstood that grief can feel.

That’s why I created The Love That Stayed Project, to offer grieving pet parents a soft place to land. Through my one-on-one support and healing resources, I hold space for your stories, your memories, and your tears. My mission is simple: to walk beside you with compassion, to honor the bond you shared, and to remind you that love never leaves, it simply changes form. You are not alone.

You Don’t Have to Walk Through This Alone.
